Russell Wilson reveals his thoughts on Seahawks’ interest in Antonio Brown

Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks are looking like legitimate contenders in the NFC this season. Not only is the team a contender, Wilson himself appears to be the front-runner to win the NFL MVP award. Could the Seahawks bolster the weapons they have for Wilson by signing Antonio Brown?

Rumors have been connecting the Seahawks to Brown recently. Seattle had interest in Brown previously, but it appears with his suspension ending after Week 8, the franchise could renew their interest in signing him.

Following the new reports about potential interest in Brown, Wilson spoke out and revealed his thoughts about potentially adding the former superstar wideout.

“I don’t know what’s going to happen with him or not. I don’t know how serious it is, us getting him or not, but I do know obviously he can play some football. I think that’s the thing, I’ve developed a relationship personally with him. Not everybody is perfect, that’s just the reality, none of us are. Hopefully, he gets to play football again.”

Through the first five games of the 2020 season with the Seahawks, Wilson has completed 72.8 percent of his pass attempts for 1,502 yards, 19 touchdowns, and three interceptions. He has also picked up 153 yards on the ground.

Adding Brown would not necessarily be a big-time move. He has had major off-the-field issues over the past couple of years. Many teams are steering completely clear of the star receiver because of them.

While it may be a bit of a risk, the Seahawks do have a great culture. If there was a place that Brown could sign with and be held accountable, it would be Seattle. Pete Carroll is the kind of coach that Brown needs and Wilson is the kind of quarterback he needs.

Only time will tell whether or not the reports of the Seahawks’ interest are true or not. If they are, Antonio Brown could find his new home very soon.

Russell Wilson seems to be interested in the move and it would certainly help if Brown has his head on straight. This is something to keep a close eye on.
