Underrated Ability in Pass Coverage
There seems to be a misconception regarding Jamal Adams’ ability to make an impact in pass coverage. He has proven during his time with the New York Jets that he excels as a zone-coverage and has shown a strong understanding of anticipation and closing speed.
Teams simply are going to have a tough time throwing against the Seattle Seahawks, especially when they reach the red-zone. Playing alongside Quandre Diggs, Shaquill Griffin, and Quinton Dunbar (assuming he plays) will help bring the best out of Adams.
The Seahawks will also now be better equipped to handle tougher tight end matchups in pass coverage situations. A talent like George Kittle of the San Francisco 49ers is one of the first to come to mind, along with Travis Kelce in a potential Super Bowl rematch.
It’s important to remember, Adams previously had to match up with Rob Gronkowski when he was still providing a high-level impact for the New England Patriots during key AFC East showdowns.
