Should the Bengals consider trading A.J. Green with Tee Higgins now on board?

A.J. Green will enter the 2020 NFL season at 32 years old and while he still has some gas left in the tank, the Bengals should try to leverage the rest of his career in a huge trade. Before the Draft, this was not such a huge issue. But with the addition of Tee Higgins, the Bengals almost have no choice.

In 2019, Green missed the entire season which forced other players to step up in his absence. The main player to benefit from Green’s absence was Tyler Boyd. In 2019, Boyd caught 90 passes for 1046 yards and five touchdowns. Not only did Boyd explode without Green but he did so with a rotation of QB’s that included the recently released Andy Dalton and Ryan Finley.

Now, the Bengals can still enter the season with possibly a top 3 core of receivers with Higgins, Green, and Boyd. This will give Joe Burrow a triple threat at his disposal which will make his transition to the NFL that much easier.

However, the lure of trading Green and getting back much-needed assets for the 2021 NFL Draft and possibly some defensive help will be an even better investment for the future.

Despite missing all of 2019, Green is still considered one of the best receivers in the NFL. But at the age of 32, is he ready for a rebuild?
