A highly anticipated visitor has been added to Texas Longhorns football’s spring schedule for the 2025 recruiting class, as reported by On3’s Sam Spiegelman on February 21st. Michael Fasusi, a sought-after five-star offensive tackle from Lewisville, Texas, is set to make an unofficial visit to Texas on April 9th.

Fasusi has confirmed visit dates with seven schools for this spring, showcasing his widespread interest in collegiate programs. Apart from Texas, his itinerary includes visits to Mizzou Tigers (March 12 and 13), LSU Tigers (March 20), Texas A&M Aggies (March 30), Oregon Ducks (April 17 and 18), Oklahoma Sooners (April 25), and Colorado Buffaloes (April 27 and 28).

This busy spring schedule reflects the high demand for the elite offensive tackle prospect from the DFW Metroplex.

The upcoming trip to Austin marks Fasusi’s sole visit to Texas this offseason, and notably, his first time back on campus since attending a game last September where the Longhorns emerged victorious against the Wyoming Cowboys at DKR.

Both Offensive Line Coach/Offensive Coordinator Kyle Flood and Head Coach Steve Sarkisian have made concerted efforts by visiting Fasusi and his family in Lewisville, underscoring the significance of building a strong rapport not just with the prospect but also with his family.

In this recruitment, establishing a strong connection with Fasusi’s father is equally vital. It’s widely acknowledged that the school fostering the best relationship with both Fasusi and his father stands the best chance of securing his commitment when he announces his decision closer to the start of his senior season this fall.

The Longhorns, led by Flood and the coaching staff, have consistently remained in contention for Fasusi’s commitment, thanks to the solid relationships they’ve cultivated with him and his family. Flood, alongside Oklahoma’s Offensive Line Coach Bill Bedenbaugh, has been particularly effective in building these connections.

Given the current trajectory, it’s plausible that Fasusi’s recruitment could culminate in a classic Texas-Oklahoma showdown on the recruiting trail, reflecting the intense competition for his talents.
