Cowboys: Secondary Edge Rusher

After a productive offseason, the Dallas Cowboys continue to face a need at the edge rusher spot opposite of DeMarcus Lawrence. The departure of Robert Quinn is a significant void that needs to be filled but it’s a fluid situation given the circumstances.

The Cowboys are still waiting on the reinstatement of either Randy Gregory or Aldon Smith. There is certainly a possibility that neither player is reinstated by the NFL to resume playing.

There are still plenty of unknowns surrounding the level of impact either Gregory or Smith could make if reinstated, too. The last time Gregory played was in 2018 and as for Smith, it’s been since 2015 for him.

While the bulk of the top options from free agency have already signed with teams, Jadeveon Clowney is still on the market along with Everson Griffen and Markus Golden.
