Mason Rudolph signed with the Tennessee Titans in free agency this month, ending his six-year run with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

On Wednesday, Rudolph took to social media to say goodbye to the city of Pittsburgh and the only NFL franchise he had ever called home.

“For the past 6 years, it has been a privilege to be part of the Pittsburgh community and represent the Pittsburgh Steelers,” Rudolph wrote on Instagram. “To my teammates, coaches, staff, Art Rooney, the Rooney family, Thomas Tull, Larry Paul, and the rest of the Steelers organization: Thank you for changing my life forever six years ago when you gave me the opportunity to wear the Black & Gold. To the fans—your love and passion for the team is what makes it so special to play here. I will never forget playing in front of Yinz one final time this past December. All the Best. MR.”

Rudolph, who played his collegiate football at Oklahoma State, was selected by the Steelers in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft.

Throughout his tenure in Pittsburgh, Rudolph appeared in 21 games and made 13 starts.

Most recently, he played in four contests and made three starts this past season. During that time, he threw for 719 yards and three touchdowns while completing 74.3 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 118. Most importantly, he went 3-0 in his regular-season starts and guided the Steelers to the playoffs, where they ultimately fell to the Buffalo Bills in the Wild Card Round.

Overall, Rudolph totaled 3,085 yards, 19 touchdowns and 11 interceptions while completing 63.5 percent of his throws and registering a passer rating of 86.9 during his time in Pittsburgh.

Now, Rudolph will join a Titans club that will feature Will Levis as its starting quarterback in 2024. If the second-year Levis struggles at all, Rudolph may get the opportunity to start yet again.

One thing is for sure: Mason Rudolph has proven to be a very capable backup on the NFL level.
