The Tom Brady-Bill Belichick era with the New England Patriots has officially come to an end, making way for a new chapter led by Jerod Mayo in Foxborough.
In his pursuit of winning the trust of the fan base, Mayo faces the crucial task of securing victories early and consistently.
Undoubtedly, it’s a challenging endeavor, but he already has a significant endorsement from none other than Tom Brady himself.
Brady recently made an appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show” where he shared his thoughts on the Patriots’ decision to appoint Mayo as the successor to Belichick.
In a ringing endorsement, Brady had nothing but praise for his former teammate.
“Jerod was a great leader, a great captain, a great friend. Him coming back to coaching is great for the NFL and great for the Patriots. He’s got a great understanding of how things need to be done. I think Jerod does an incredible job relating to everyone in the locker room. I think he’ll do a great job.”
Jerod Mayo and Tom Brady were teammates from 2008 to 2015, and their collaboration culminated in a Super Bowl victory during the 2014 season. This shared experience has undoubtedly forged a strong bond between them.
Mayo’s deep understanding of “The Patriot Way” is unquestionable, having spent his entire playing and coaching career within the New England organization.
However, the burning question remains: Can he replicate the extraordinary success achieved by the iconic duo of Brady and Belichick? Only time will tell as Mayo embarks on this new journey.
