Vikings’ Justin Jefferson Takes Shot At Fantasy Football Managers

Minnesota Vikings star wide receiver Justin Jefferson has not played since injuring his hamstring in Week 5 against the Kansas City Chiefs. These have been a tough few weeks for Jefferson, as they are the first games he has missed in his NFL career.

While he is as competitive as they come and wants to be out there, he knows that he has to take his time in returning. If he comes back too early, there is a risk of re-aggravating the injury, which could be a worst-case scenario.

While the Vikings have found success on the field in his absence, Fantasy Football managers haven’t. Jefferson was a first-round pick in many drafts, and in some cases, the first overall pick, and his absence has derailed a lot of those teams.

However, don’t bring those complaints to Jefferson. He isn’t worried about Fantasy Football teams, as his health is vastly more important. He took a shot at some of those managers who have been reaching out to him on social media.

Some players have acknowledged the world of Fantasy Football and want to do everything they can to help owners win games. Los Angeles Chargers running back Austin Ekeler has a podcast where he talks extensively about Fantasy Football and drafted himself on numerous teams, so you know he wanted to get back out there.

But, for every Ekeler, more players share a similar thinking as the Vikings star wide receiver. What happens in the world of Fantasy Football has very little bearing on them, as they are focused on getting healthy and getting back on the field for their NFL team.

Jefferson, whose 21-day practice window was opened on November 8th, is getting close. He has sat out the two games since being activated and there is a chance the team will hold him out of Week 12 against the Chicago Bears with a bye in Week 13.

That would give Jefferson nine weeks to have healed from when the injury first occurred. If Jefferson feels he is 100 percent healthy, he will be out there in Week 12. If not, he will wait to come back until Week 14 against the Las Vegas Raiders.
