Quarterbacks
Kirk Cousins spent the first six years of his career in Washington. Over his final three years in the nation’s capital, Cousins started every game and threw for at least 4,000 yards and 25 touchdowns In every game. The Vikings decided that Cousins was their quarterback of the future and signed him to a three-year, $82 million deal.
Cousins went 8-7–1 in his first season on an imperfect Vikings’ team. His fully guaranteed contract brought much criticism, but Cousins put up his best numbers during year one in Minnesota. He threw for the most yards, touchdowns, and fewest interceptions of his career.
This set up a strong 2020 season where he threw 26 touchdowns and just six interceptions. He went 10-5 in 15 games and defeated the Saints in the postseason.
This earned Cousins a two-year, $66 million contract extension with the Vikings. He will look to lead the Vikings to a division title and beyond in 2020. Backing up Cousins will be Sean Mannion and Jake Browning.
