Yannick Ngakoue
The Seahawks already pulled off a big trade to land an impactful pass rusher once lately. Why not do it again? Targeting a deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars for Yannick Ngakoue if Jadeveon Clowney were to leave makes plenty of sense.
It would require having to trade significant compensation plus a contract extension, so this idea isn’t easy. However, trying to replace Clowney on the fly with an already established player is even harder if Ngakoue was taken off the list as an option.
Going from Clowney to Ngakoue would be a great outcome for the Seahawks in this situation. The Jaguars star has solidified himself as a highly impactful all-around player that would be a part of the team’s core for years to come.
The desire that Ngakoue has to get out of Jacksonville will surely force the Jaguars’ hand at some point to move him. He would have departed in free agency had the franchise-tag not prevented him from being able to do so. Now, he must wait to get traded.
