3 early predictions for Chargers rookie Justin Herbert in 2020

John Hefti-USA TODAY Sports

Herbert will throw more interceptions than touchdowns as a rookie

Herbert has all the physical ability in the world, but he tends to rely on that ability too often. He may have gotten away with some risky throws at the college level, but that kind of stuff won’t fly in the NFL.

There’s a really solid chance we see Herbert actually throw more interceptions than touchdowns in year one. He has never had to read NFL defenses playing in the Pac-12, most of the defenses he’s faced have been pretty basic.

NFL defensive coordinators will have a field day when they face Herbert, at least during his rookie campaign with the Chargers.
