Will Exceed 900 Receiving Yards
There is a lot of potential to rack up receiving yards in an offense that managed to average 296.9 per game and trailed only the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. After losing Randall Cobb, there’s plenty of potential for someone like CeeDee Lamb to step in and capitalize.
The two receivers that set the tone for the Cowboys last season were clearly Amari Cooper (1,189) and Michael Gallup (1,107) as they both exceeded 1,100 receiving yards. That will continue in 2020 given their roles, but there’s room for a third receiver to reach big numbers.
The team’s next leading receivers were Randall Cobb (828) and Jason Witten (529) combining for over 1,300 receiving yards together. Neither player decided to return to the Cowboys for 2020 and Lamb will be able to take up a good portion of this production.
A realistic figure for Lamb to reach would be 900 receiving yards during his rookie campaign. Not all of the yardage of the team’s third and fourth receiver from 2019 is obviously going to go to Lamb, but his versatility and general skill-set will enable to capitalize in a variety of ways.
