3 edge rushers the Cowboys should still target in free agency

Everson Griffen

The Minnesota Vikings have boasted one of the most consistent defensive groups in the NFL in recent years and one reason for that is the presence of Everson Griffen. After being told that the Vikings are going in a different direction, Griffen has his sights on continuing his career elsewhere in 2020.

Among all of the options that the Cowboys can choose from, Griffen is a perfect fit for their defense. As a matter of fact, Dallas has reportedly been keeping close tabs on Griffen following the news that Minnesota won’t be bringing him back.

In just the past six seasons, Griffen has amassed 57 sacks, 138 quarterback hits, and seven forced fumbles. Additionally, the USC product has missed just eight games in those six years, providing durability on the defensive front.

Even though Griffen is turning 33 years old in December, he hasn’t shown any signs of slowing down any time soon. Regardless of what his asking price is, the Cowboys would be remiss to not at least try to offer Griffen something to join them this offseason.
