Curtis Weaver
Of course, with the draft being held virtually and in unusual circumstances this year, there could be more players to be drafted later than expected. That could give the Bills an opportunity to draft one of the top pass rushers in the second round.
While he isn’t the most explosive athlete, Curtis Weaver is one of the most productive edge rushers in this year’s draft. Over the course of his three years at Boise State, Weaver amassed 34 sacks, 47.5 tackles for loss, and three forced fumbles.
On Boise State’s defense, Weaver lined up as an outside linebacker on some plays, while also putting his hand down as a traditional end on others. With that being said, Weaver was at his best when he got a chance to explode out of a three-point stance.
Without a doubt, Weaver isn’t going to wow a defense with his ability to bend around the edge or his athleticism. Although that may be true, Weaver is still a defender that can get to the quarterback in a variety of ways. Drafting Weaver would give the Bills an eventual starter at defensive end.
