3 players the Vikings should consider trading up for in the NFL Draft

Joe Maiorana-USA TODAY Sports

Cornerback, Jeff Okudah, Ohio State

The once formidable secondary of the Vikings is now a shell of its former self. The team lost three key members of their cornerback group this offseason, with Xavier Rhodes, Mackensie Alexander and Trae Waynes all leaving Minnesota.

They’re in for a complete makeover at the cornerback position, and it’ll start on draft night. Trading up to snag the premiere corner in this draft would go a long way in returning the Vikings defense to glory. Jeff Okudah out of Ohio State is that guy.

Standing at 6-foot-1 and weighing in at 200 pounds, Okudah is your prototypical NFL corner. He easily has the best footwork of any corner prospect in this year’s draft, and he put it on display during his workout at the scouting combine.

Nearly every scout has Okudah as their top corner in this year’s draft. Not many athletes possess the kind of quickness and flexibility at Okudah’s size.

If the opportunity presents itself, trading up to snag Okudah should be a no-brainer for Minnesota.
