New York Jets
The New York Jets’ current roster has lacked blue-chip players for years now and with free agency inching closer to the finish line, this offseason is no different. The team currently sits on $32 million in cap space, per Over The Cap, so with the market dying down, now is their time to spend.
Last week, the team brought back Jordan Jenkins, who led the defense with eight sacks in 2019. Pairing him with another edge rusher in free agency combined with last year’s third overall pick, Quinnen Williams, would give them a fierce defensive front.
“We’re going to do our due diligence on everyone who’s out there — especially at edge rusher,” said GM Joe Douglas, via Ralph Vacchiano of SNY.
Douglas has expressed the thought of adding to the pass rush, and adding a player such as Everson Griffen who’s averaged just over eight sacks per season for the last three years, would be a definite boost for Greg Williams’ defense.
