Instead of scouring free agency for a safety, the Cowboys could choose to go through the draft. The Cowboys own the No. 17 pick in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft.

Ahead of the NFL trade deadline this season, Dallas attempted to lure Jamal Adams from the New York Jets. Unfortunately, a deal never materialized and the Cowboys were left lacking at their strong safety position

After failing to acquire a safety from LSU via trade, the Cowboys could draft one this offseason. In the upcoming draft, Grant Delpit is regarded as one of the best safety prospects available.

Over his three seasons at LSU, Delpit accumulated 199 tackles, 24 deflections, and eight interceptions. While he needs to improve as a tackler, Delpit excels in coverage with his playmaking ability.
