3 questions for the LA Rams following the release of Todd Gurley

Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

What will the locker room impact be?

It’s never easy to move on from a player that was once one of the league’s top players at his position. That’s especially true in Todd Gurley’s case considering how he’s only 25-years-old and it clearly was motivated by the intention of clearing cap space.

All employees of the NFL have at least somewhat of an understanding that tough decisions are simply part of the nature of the business. That doesn’t change the fact that some decisions send different messages. How will the Rams’ locker room be impacted by releasing Gurley? Only time will tell.

There is a need for the Rams to have some players step up in the leadership department after considerable roster turnover has taken place. It’s worth noting, Gurley was just one of seven key starters Los Angeles lost this offseason.
