Adds Immediate Depth at QB

It’s no secret that Carson Wentz has struggled to stay healthy since he has emerged as one of the better quarterbacks in the league. If any team knows the value of having a backup quarterback that can produce when called upon, it’s the Eagles.

Let’s not forget, Wentz was sidelined for the entirety of the Eagles’ playoff runs during the 2017 and 2018 seasons. He also was forced to leave Philadelphia’s playoff matchup with the Seattle Seahawks due to a head injury and he was unable to return.

Having a talented backup like Hurts will help to salvage an unfortunate situation if Wentz were to ever go down with an injury again. It’s better to use an early round draft pick on this position and be prepared rather than being left short-handed after an injury.
