Add Layers to the Offense
The Eagles have been adamant that the selections of Jalen Hurts was to provide depth at the quarterback position, not to give competition to Carson Wentz for the starting job. However, Philadelphia doesn’t have to exclusively use strictly a traditional quarterback on the field at all times.
The Eagles need more explosive plays and Miles Sanders can only do so much himself. Adding Jalen Reagor into the mix certainly helps and so will having Alshon Jeffrey and DeSean Jackson healthy, but integrating Hurts at times can be another means to get the job done.
There are a few ways the Eagles could get creative with where they have Hurts line up on the field. As Ted Nguyen of The Athletic stated, Hurts has the tools to line up at running back or slot receiver, or they could even take inspiration from some of Princeton’s two-quarterback system.
