3 things the San Francisco 49ers must do this offseason

Re-Sign Emmanuel Sanders

At the beginning of the 2019 season, the 49ers found themselves in dire need of upgrading the wide receiver corps. In order to do so, they acquired former Denver Broncos’ wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders prior to week eight.

Since his arrival to the Bay Area, the pass-catching group as a whole took large strides and it appeared Jimmy Garoppolo’s confidence as a pocket passer had risen.

Sanders doesn’t light up the box score but it’s his contribution to crucial downs where he and Garoppolo connect to keep the chains moving. Additionally, Sanders was a large help along the way for Deebo Samuel’s development down the stretch run of his rookie campaign.

Sanders, who’s entering his age 33 seasons won’t demand top dollar on the free-agent market and at this stage in his career, he may potentially look to take a discounted rate in order to remain in a situation that he gravitates towards. The going rate for Sanders this offseason will likely be around $7-9 million per year.
