3 worst-case scenarios for the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2020

The Pittsburgh Steelers are coming off a 2019 campaign that left plenty of reason for optimism for the upcoming season. Despite losing Ben Roethlisberger to a season-ending injury, they posted an 8-8 record narrowly missing the playoffs.

It was a relatively quiet offseason for the Steelers headlined by using the franchise tag on Bud Dupree. In terms of roster additions, Pittsburgh added Eric Ebron, Derek Watt, and Stefen Wisniewski in free agency.

During the 2020 NFL Draft, the Steelers added intriguing prospects like wide receiver Chase Claypool (49th pick), outside linebacker Alex Highsmith (102nd pick), and running back Anthony McFarland Jr. (124th pick). They should be able to step in and play a role as rookies.

With the Baltimore Ravens setting the tone for the AFC North, the Steelers will surely have their work cut out for themselves. Pittsburgh certainly appears to be trending in the right direction but so do the Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Bengals.

With that being said, here are three potential worst-case scenarios for the Pittsburgh Steelers during the 2020 season.
