Defensive Success from 2019 Doesn’t Sustain
It’s no secret the Pittsburgh Steelers were led by the execution of their defense last season. They will need that to continue in 2020 if they hope to compete with the likes of the Baltimore Ravens for a chance to finish atop the AFC North standings.
There are particular areas of defense that may not sustain for the Steelers next season. For example, they generated a league-most 38 turnovers and that was a key element to their success. It’s difficult for a team to repeat that type of production in consecutive seasons, though.

The Steelers will undoubtedly have a strong overall defense next season regardless of any potential slippage in statistical output. The worst-case scenario is that the impact their defense will make isn’t quite as dynamic as it was in 2019.
