4 burning questions for the Broncos entering the NFL Draft

What’s the plan at DE?

The Broncos faced a scenario at the start of the offseason that could have left them needing to make replacements to three defensive ends. The cause of that being Derek Wolfe, Shelby Harris, and Adam Gotsis reaching free agency. Of course, that didn’t end up coming to fruition.

With Wolfe signing a deal to play for the Baltimore Ravens and Gotsis still a free agent, taking a look at defensive ends in the NFL Draft would make lots of sense for the Broncos. There aren’t logical options at No. 15 to address this position, but looking to do. soon Day 2 would be advantageous.

Let’s not forget, Dre’Mont Jones showed potential during his rookie campaign and could receive a larger role in 2020. Deciding to use an early round selection on a defensive end gets further complicated when factoring in the possibility of bringing back Gotsis.

It definitely helps the Broncos to have so many picks relatively early in the draft order. Adding a talented prospect using a ‘best player available’ approach would likely help to resolve a lot of the issues their team is facing. That philosophy could very well include a defensive end, too.
