The Raiders’ Offense Showed Its Ceiling
It’s rare for a team to pull off a performance where they outcompete the Chiefs in a gun battle. That’s precisely what the Raiders managed to do and that’s intriguing for their potential as an overall unit.
The threat Darren Waller and Josh Jacobs pose for defenses are well-known, but this time, the Raiders’ offense was unlocked with the unleashing of Henry Ruggs III. He managed to turn two catches into 118 yards and one touchdown while stretching the field in a major way.
Putting up 40 points is impressive in itself, but the Raiders also added 490 total yards of offense while being quite efficient. Las Vegas went 7-of-14 (50.0%) on 3rd down conversions, were successful on both 4th down attempts, and had perfect results on three trips to the red-zone.
There were a variety of costly defensive breakdowns from the Chiefs that helped Nelson Agholor and Hunter Renfrow to pull off big plays of their own. The presence of Ruggs III helps to complete Las Vegas as a dangerous overall unit.
