The Ravens’ Have Plenty To Clean Up Entering Bye Week
Aside from a blowout loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, the Baltimore Ravens have been highly impressive so far this season. That is quite evident in their 5-1 record entering their Week 7 bye. However, there is still plenty for them to improve.
Perhaps most pressing for the Ravens was how they finished this game with 12 penalties— resulting in the loss of 132 total yards. For the sake of comparison, the Eagles were called for just three penalties and lost 20 yards. That’s quite the disparity.
The Ravens’ defense has plenty of work cut out for themselves, too. It’s inexcusable to go from holding the Eagles’ offense scoreless through the initial half of this game to giving up 28 points during the remainder of this game.
There were plenty of big plays that set up key scoring drives for the Eagles after halftime. Miles Sanders got Philadelphia on the board first with a 74-yard touchdown run. Also, a 50-yard pass by Carson Wentz and a 49-yard defensive pass interference each were key in two other touchdowns.
Having a full week to prepare for a gauntlet of an upcoming schedule could go a long way for the Ravens to ramp up their production in key areas. Their next challenge will come against the Pittsburgh Steelers in a matchup that will have a major impact on the AFC North standings.
