3. Seahawks’ Defense Made Timely Plays
The Dolphins may not be known for having a prolific offense, but they do compete hard throughout every game and can catch a defense by surprise.
It’s difficult to trade field goals while the opposition is managing to get into the end-zone. Those were the circumstances the Dolphins faced as a result of effective execution from the Seahawks’ defense. In fact, five of the six scoring drives Miami produced ended with field goals.
It was quite impressive that Seattle managed to keep the Dolphins out of the end-zone for all but their final possession— when the outcome of the game was all but official. That’s just about all you can ask from a defense, but it wasn’t all the Seahawks’ unit provided as they forced two takeaways, too.
It takes a lot to beat a team led by Russell Wilson. Part of a successful effort requires putting up a lot of points. The Dolphins sorely lacked a dynamic enough presence at quarterback or in the running game to pull it off.
