Austin Hooper Needs To Be Utilized More Often
One of the bigger surprises of the NFL offseason was the Browns spending big money to sign tight end Austin Hooper in free agency. Hooper was expected to be a key target for Baker Mayfield, but that has not been the case.
Hooper has caught just seven passes for 62 yards in his first three games with the Browns. That kind of production isn’t worth the money the Browns are paying him. He is impacting the game in other ways, but Cleveland needs to get him more involved.
With the struggles that Mayfield has had, targeting his big and athletic tight end more would make sense. Hooper could be the piece that takes Mayfield’s game to the next level.
Kevin Stefanski loves using tight ends and it’s time for him to get creative with Hooper. If the Browns want to get the most out of their offense, Hooper needs to be a much more productive option.
