Alex Smith Is Getting Closer To Seeing Some Action

After a rough performance from second-year quarterback Dwyane Haskins, Washington could make a change at some point. Alex Smith has been cleared to play football and Ron Rivera was adamant that he would not shy away from utilizing his veteran quarterback if the situation deems it wise.

Smith is coming off of a gruesome broken leg. In fact, he almost lost his leg due to infection. Making a comeback would be a scary thing to watch, but he wants to play football and he may get a chance.

If Haskins continues struggling for another week or two, giving Smith a chance could make sense. Smith has always been a very good quarterback and Rivera wants to win.

Many don’t agree with putting Smith back out on the field after almost losing his leg, but Washington could make that decision this season.
