Will Todd Gurley Change the Running Game
It was a struggle for the Falcons to find success running the ball against anyone. Devonta Freeman and a suspect offensive line kept Atlanta from really taking off and being a legitimate contender during the season.
During the offseason, the Falcons decided to place a bigger emphasis on the running game and brought in Todd Gurley. He will need to perform at peak levels if Atlanta wants to be relevant.
Against a Seattle front that will have question marks after losing top players during the offseason, Gurley gets a chance right out of the gate to show that he is still one of the best running backs in the league.
Gurley will likely need to gain over 1,000 yards on the season for Atlanta to stay competitive and a solid 80-100-yard rushing performance in the home opener would open the door. The Seahawks will look to turn Atlanta into a one-dimensional team, which means Gurley will be a focal point for both teams in this one.
