4 perfect defensive targets for the Detroit Lions this offseason

Blake Martinez, Packers, Bears

Blake Martinez, Linebacker, Free Agent

Green Bay Packers linebacker Blake Martinez is set to hit open free agency this offseason. While he has received criticism for not being a very athletic linebacker, he is a sure tackler and has excellent leadership abilities. Detroit needs both of those things.

Martinez finished the 2019 season with 155 total tackles, three tackles, one forced fumble, an interception, and two defended passes. Those numbers show how productive he has been and why the Lions should pursue him.

Not only would they be getting a great player who would boost their defensive immediately, they would be taking him away from the Packers. Talk about killing two birds with one stone. Get it done, Detroit!
