Solomon Thomas, Defensive End

First up, let’s take a look at the defensive side of the football for the 49ers. Solomon Thomas isn’t a name that was brought up much in 2019. San Francisco had one of the most dominant defenses in the league, but Thomas wasn’t a huge part of their success.

Thomas ended the season with 21 total tackles to go along with two sacks. Obviously, those numbers don’t show massive potential.

However, the 49ers made the blockbuster move to trade DeForest Buckner to the Indianapolis Colts. That opens up a potentially larger role for Thomas. He is going to take full advantage of any extra snaps that he gets to play.

At just 24 years old, the 6-foot-3 and 280-pound Thomas will turn things around in 2020. He will become an integral piece of the 49ers’ defensive front and will help fill the void left by Buckner along with rookie defensive tackle Javon Kinlaw.
