Jullian Taylor
Richie James’ heroics overshadowed what was perhaps the game’s best performance, which came from fellow seventh-rounder Jullian Taylor.
The rookie started at the big defensive end role and played all four quarters, proving a disruptive force throughout.
Taylor had a quarterback hit and a hurry as well as a key fourth-quarter sack in 20 pass-rush snaps. His three defensive stops also tied a team high, per PFF.
Julian Taylor has been a bright spot for the 49ers and has played every play at left DE. Great pass rush on this play and draws an offensive holding call#DALvsSF #49ers #JullianTaylor@49ersHub pic.twitter.com/q9K7P6jfAh

It was a display in which Taylor demonstrated impressive power and consistently dominated the leverage battles with opposing offensive linemen.
Taylor took full advantage of an opportunity provided to him by an injury to Arik Armstead. However, the 49ers picked up Armstead’s fifth-year option, meaning talk of Taylor displacing him as a starter may be premature.
Yet the 49ers reliance on Taylor in this game and his strong showing suggests he can be an immediate contributor.
