This Game Will Be a Shootout

The Jaguars’ secondary is very unproven and the Indianapolis Colts should be able to take advantage of this. Honestly, it’s hard to even say how good this group will be for Jacksonville because so many players have yet to get a real shot at playing time. Rookie CJ Henderson has a lot of potential, but he just hasn’t gotten a real live opportunity in the NFL yet.

Before working with the Jaguars in the offseason, Henderson got some work in with route running legend Chad Johnson. The former NFL All-Pro had very high praise for the young man. Will Henderson manage to turn his potential into on-field contribution in Week 1? We will have to wait and see.

While this is certainly a welcome sight for Jaguars fans, we have to see how Henderson does against real competition and he is likely going to be the Jaguars No. 1 corner. Tre Herndon had some promise last season but the jury is still out on if he is ready to be a full time starter.

Meanwhile, the Colts’ secondary is nowhere near perfect either. When the Colts last went up against Jacksonville, the Jaguars’ offense put up 38 points and has only gotten better since that game. This Week 1 matchup could end up being another shootout. It may be a very exciting game to watch and an excellent start to the NFL season.
