Both Teams Will Get to the Quarterback a Lot
The Jaguars and Colts both have very solid pass rushers. The Jaguars have two very promising young edge rushers in Josh Allen and K’Lavon Chaisson. The Colts have two proven veterans in Justin Houston and DeForest Buckner. Both teams should have good success getting to the quarterback this week.
The pass rushers should be able to take advantage of how few reps offensive lineman have gottten in this offseason. Offensive lineman may have issues after a quick training camp and no preseason. They need reps against opposing defenses to adjust. It may sound silly, but they probably will need some time to get used to hitting and blocking once again.
While the Colts do have a dominant offensive line, Jaguars defensive end Josh Allen is going to have a breakout year. Allen had a very strong rookie campaign. He was one of the great defensive prospects that went under-the-radar behind Nick Bosa in last year’s draft. Honestly, Allen was almost as good as Bosa last year and was very under-appreciated.
For the Colts, Bosa’s former teammate DeForest Buckner could also be in for a monster season. Last year the 49ers had so many edge rushers that it was hard for any of them to accumulate big sack totals. Look for both these guys to have multiple sacks, and for the Colts and Jaguars to have at least 5 sacks each.
