Leighton Vander Esch Will Record a Sack

Cowboys outside linebacker Leighton Vander Esch isn’t known for recording many sacks following his first two seasons in the league, as he’s compiled just 0.5 sacks in two seasons played.

The bold prediction for the linebacker is he’s going to start this season off with a unique feat, and that is by the time Week 1 is finished, he’ll have a sack against the Rams offense.

It won’t happen often in this game, but when it does, Vander Esch will have his first official full sack in the NFL.

This is a bold statement because last season Vander Esch blitzed just 19 times in nine games played, and he had just one QB knockdown and no QB hurries. That will change in this game because the Cowboys need to pressure the offense of Los Angeles, and what better way to do so than by giving them a surprise of Vander Esch at times putting pressure on the quarterback?
