Za’Darius Smith Ends Up with 3 Sacks
The impact Za’Darius Smith provided the Green Bay Packers all throughout the 2019 season was incredible. After a successful four-year tenure with the Baltimore Ravens, Smith elevated his game to a never before-seen level with 55 combined tackles (17 for loss), 37 QB hits, and 13.5 sacks.
With a need to clinch the NFC North title against the Minnesota Vikings, Smith helped lead the Packers with 7 combined tackles and 3.5 sacks. He has proven to be capable of getting to Kirk Cousins and taking him down multiple times within the same outing.
The matchup for Smith remains favorable when the Packers stack up with the Vikings head-to-head. He should continue to wreak havoc on Minnesota’s passing game and even if he doesn’t always get to the QB in time for a sack, expect lots of hits on Cousins.
Smith is going to kick off his 2020 campaign with another dynamic display against the Vikings with 3 sacks. It will put the rest of the NFL on notice that the Packers’ pass rush is to be feared when matching up with Green Bay. In those efforts, Smith’s presence will set the tone.
