5 bold predictions for Packers vs. Vikings in Week 1 of the 2020 NFL season

The NFL season is finally upon us after many months, and some uncertainty surrounding COVID-19. A matchup that will have the attention of many in Week 1 will be the NFC North rivalry with the Green Bay Packers taking on the Minnesota Vikings.

Last season, the Packers managed to win both matchups against the Vikings and that played a pivotal role in Green Bay winning the NFC North. Ultimately, they posted a 13-3 record and managed to reach the NFC Championship Game.

The first matchup was a 21-16 victory for the Packers on Sept. 15. Green Bay got off to a hot start scoring 14 straight points and then posted a 21-10 halftime lead. The Vikings failed to get hot enough offensively in the second half and lost despite the Packers scoring no additional points.

The next time the Vikings faced off with the Packers was on Dec. 23 and it began as a closer outing. The first quarter ended in a 3-3 tie and Minnesota even went up 10-9 at halftime. However, Green Bay went on to score 14 unanswered points to close out the game en route to a 23-10 win.

For both the Packers and Vikings, there is a very real chance they can each contend for an NFC North title. The outcome will not be decided by this Week 1 matchup, but that doesn’t mean it won’t be a vital influencing factor on the situation overall.

With that, let’s take a look at five bold predictions for Green Bay Packers vs. Minnesota Vikings in Week 1 of the 2020 season.
