1. Broncos victory leads to Gase’s firing
There have been serious talks of Adam Gase coaching for his job on Thursday. Once these talks begin, it’s over no matter what. If he is not fired after Week 4 then the Jets are just delaying the inevitable.
Jets’ owner Christopher Johnson spoke out after the season opener in favor of Gase and his plan. That is getting impossible to justify and even the Johnson’s have to see it. This game could be the final straw.
The first three games were against difficult opponents, the tea is hurt, whatever excuses people want to make. If New York loses to a depleted Denver team with a backup quarterback, that could be the end for Gase.
The only issue would be if the Jets could hire a good head coach next time around. General manager Joe Douglas was not the one who hired Gase, so he would have a chance to bring in his own guy. Eric Bieniemy is looking really good over in Kansas City.
