3. Braxton Berrios scores again
The only receivers to finish with a catch against the Colts were Berrios and Lawrence Cager. Berrios led the team with four catches for 64 yards and a touchdown. This was his second straight week with a score after catching a garbage time touchdown against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 2.
If anyone has stepped up for the inept offense of the Jets, it has been Berrios. Over the last two weeks, he has totaled 10 catches for 123 yards and two touchdowns. Darnold needs a favorite target and Berrios, even though unknown, has been reliable for his quarterback.
If the Jets get in the end zone Thursday night, Berrios could be the man once again.
Crowder is hurt. Denzel Mims has not been on the field for the Jets yet. Chris Herndon has been an extreme disappointment at tight end. Berrios has been the only one who has performed well for this offense.
