5 major X-Factors for the Jaguars in Week 3 vs. Dolphins

The Jacksonville Jaguars are coming off a very tough loss to the Tennessee Titans in Week 2. This week is a short turnaround on a Thursday night game against the Miami Dolphins. While the Jaguars have a promising foundation, there is still a lot of work to do. The Dolphins are not a team to take lightly.

Although Miami has yet to win, they’ve gone against two very tough teams in Buffalo and New England. Miami is better than the record indicates. This matchup features two very young teams building towards the future. It would not be surprising to see this is a playoff matchup in a few years.

While Miami will have their QB of the future still on the sideline, Ryan Fitzpatrick is coming off an excellent game last week. Although rookie corner CJ Henderson has played well in his first two games, the Jaguars secondary has had trouble. They must minimize their mistakes this week against Miami.

The Jaguars’ offensive line has done a much better job in both run and pass blocking thus far this year. While they aren’t perfect, Jacksonville has a lot of potential on the line. If Jacksonville’s offensive line can stay healthy and play to their potential this may be a top 15 unit. However, they must keep that consistency as they face a dynamic Dolphins defensive front.

This is going to be a very important week for Jacksonville. Currently they sit 2nd place in the AFC South. The division may end up being a tighter race than previously expected. It is important that Jacksonville wins the out of conference games this season.

With that being said, here are five players who will be X-Factors for the Jaguars as they face the Dolphins in Week 3.
