5 most likely players to be traded prior to the 2020 NFL season

Ryan Kerrigan

Throughout the pre-draft process, it was assumed that the Washington Redskins would select Chase Young with the No. 2 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. Just as expected, the Redskins took the surefire edge rusher out of Ohio State, giving them a crowded pass-rushing unit.

In last year’s draft, Washington selected Montez Sweat with the No. 26 pick, making Young the second-straight edge rusher the Redskins have taken in the first round of the draft. But besides Young and Sweat, Washington already features veterans Ryan Kerrigan and Nate Orchard.

Since being taken in the first round of the 2011 NFL Draft, Kerrigan has been a constant fixture in Washington’s defense. There’s no doubt that new head coach Ron Rivera would love to have Kerrigan remain on the team as a leader on and off the field. However, Kerrigan’s $11.6 million cap hit in 2020 could prompt a trade before next season.
