It’s Not Easy Landing Dynamic QBs
It goes a long way to have a dynamic quarterback in the NFL but it can be a real challenge finding one. It’s especially difficult to land a talent that has previously lead the league in passing yards and threw for over 30 touchdowns when they are still only 26-years-old.
It’s not easy to develop a prospect into being a high-level talent and can be at least somewhat risky. When it works out like in the case of the Kansas City Chiefs with Patrick Mahomes, the results can be remarkable. That isn’t going to be the case for every prospect touted as having potential, though.
The process of landing a dynamic quarterback will only increase in difficulty as some of the older quarterbacks that have been among the best in the NFL for years start to retire. Those teams will need to shift course from what they’ve known and land a long-term solution.
There is rarely an opportunity for a team to sign a dynamic quarterback that isn’t removed from their prime. In the case of Jameis Winston, he has many years remaining in his NFL career and has already achieved some highly impressive results in what he has shown.
