James Lynch, DT, Minnesota Vikings
Projecting a player like James Lynch to the pro level is tricky. On one hand, it’s clear to see that the technical aspects of Lynch’s game need some work. He relied more on raw strength and throwing smaller offensive linemen out of his way at Baylor than any sort of refined technique.
But on the other hand, Lynch’s stat line tells the story of a player who completely dominated at the college level. Finishing with 19.5 tackles for loss and 13.5 sacks is crazy by any standard, and it was enough to earn him First Team All American honors.
Lynch won’t be able to bully NFL linemen as he did during his Baylor days, but those numbers show just how much raw talent Lynch has as a player. If he’s able to improve his form, add a few moves to his pass-rush arsenal, and combine those new skills with his already immense talent…
Watch out.
