Curtis Weaver in college was like watching a cheat code in action. One of the smartest, most technically sound pass-rushers at the college level, Weaver feasted on his Mountain West competition in all three years with Boise State.

However, Weaver faces a problem opposite to James Lynch before him. While Lynch’s lack of technical skill caused his draft stock to sink, Weaver fell through the draft because of his limited size and athletic ability. 

Those problems can be hard to overcome, but Weaver’s advanced technical skills give him an opportunity to be a productive rotational pass-rusher in the league for years to come. Many analysts had Weaver as a Day Two pick. Getting him in the late fifth round was a steal for the Miami Dolphins.
