7 biggest steals throughout the entire 2020 NFL Draft

James Proche, WR, Baltimore Ravens

James Proche probably won’t wow anybody with his athletic ability in the NFL. He’s not the fastest guy or the quickest, and that limited speed and agility will probably limit him from putting up the numbers he had at the college level.

But rather than looking at what Proche isn’t, focus on what he is. A super-sound, well-rounded player more than capable of being a high-end depth piece.

He won’t create separation with his speed, but he will create space through some solid route-running skill. And as long as Lamar Jackson can get the ball near him, there’s a good chance Proche will come down with it. He’s shown strong contested-catch skills through his time at SMU, and rarely ever dropped a pass that was cleanly in his hands.

Expecting Proche to be a “Tom Brady-level sixth-round steal” might be fool’s errand, but Proche is a high-floor player capable of finding solid production at some point during his NFL career.
