Whenever trades are being discussed, the New England Patriots are usually one of the first teams mentioned. Yet again, the Patriots were awarded the most compensatory picks (four) due to the free agents that left them last offseason.

Just a year ago, New England was involved in six draft-day trades. After receiving four compensatory picks, the Patriots now have a grand total of 12 draft picks in this year’s NFL Draft.

In light of that, it’s inevitable that Bill Belichick is going to be active on the phones in the 2020 NFL Draft. Also, with Tom Brady surprisingly leaving in free agency, Belichick realizes that this year’s draft is more important than ever.
