1. The Bears are only a quarterback away from a Super Bowl
Over the years, people have loosely used the phrase that a team is ‘only a quarterback away’ from making a Super Bowl. But for the Bears, that argument is legitimate.
Just two years ago, the Bears were 12-4 and primed to make a deep playoff run. Instead, they were eliminated in the Wild Card Round by the Philadelphia Eagles.
Having been two years removed from that loss, the Bears still have an elite defense and a slew of weapons at wide receiver. In addition, they also have David Montgomery and Tarik Cohen in the backfield.
The entire roster has the makeup of a championship team—aside from the quarterback. Again, Trubisky isn’t the signal-caller that is going to lead the Bears to the promised land.
The Bears already made the mistake of taking Trubisy over Patrick Mahomes and Deshaun Watson. Now, they could have the chance to somewhat salvage the situation by being an unforeseen suitor for the most accomplished quarterback of all-time.
