4. Stephen Denmark

The Bears made the decision to release Prince Amukamara this offseason. He is now with the Las Vegas Raiders and the Bears are in need of a starting cornerback on the other side of Kyle Fuller.

This will be a training camp battle and Denmark could be on the outside looking in. The cornerbacks room in Chicago will be full.

The Bears have Buster Skrine, Kevin Toliver, Duke Shelley, and rookie Jaylon Johnson to choose from. Johnson was a second-round pick of the Bears in April’s draft. Denmark was a seventh-round pick just one year ago.

It is likely that Denmark will land on the practice squad. Johnson and Skrine will be in the driver’s seat for that final starting spot while Shelley and Toliver will act as backups. This is a situation where Denmark will have to come out and really wow the coaches to earn a spot.
