3. Barkevious Mingo
The Bears’ front seven is extremely strong. It is led by Khalil Mack and continues with Roquan Smith and Danny Trevathan. Chicago added Robert Quinn on a five-year, $70 million deal in March. He will completely solidify the linebacking group for the Bears. This leaves players like Barkevious Mingo without a spot.
Mingo was the sixth overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft by the Cleveland Browns. He spent the first three seasons of his career with the Browns. In 2020, the Bears will be his fifth team in the last five years.
Mingo is hoping to find a home in Chicago as a backup but that is on the fence. With the talent and depth on the roster, he is unlikely to see a ton of snaps.
Mingo was an incredible talent coming out of LSU. He has never been able to put it together in the NFL. Maybe the Bears are the team that can turn his career around but he will have to make the team first.
